The Hansbarger store originally opened as a plumbing supply store in the 1920’s in Ansonia, Ohio, just before the Great Depression. Following World War I, Hansbarger’s moved the short 15 miles down historic route 118 to Greenville, Ohio, where it became a fixture in the downtown district during the thriving period of post-war economic growth. Then, after nearly 50 years in business, the Hansbarger family sold the company to Karlh McCallister in 1971 and the McCallister Family has continued the Hansbarger tradition for the last 50 years at our location across from the Great Darke County Fairgrounds!

In 2007, Hansbarger Appliances was rebranded as Hansbarger Home Solutions and moved to its current location with a custom built modern showroom. The showroom is a point of pride for Hansbargers because it was specifically designed in collaboration with our appliance vendors and area contracting partners to inspire our clients. It is one of a kind for the area and features various vignettes and unique design elements to showcase appliances as they will look in the homes of our customers.

Quality, Integrity, Service

The store recently opened 3,000 square feet of additional showroom space to display a wider variety of furniture and bedding enhancing the choices their customers can make when they shop. Hansbarger Home Solutions is also making a concerted effort to update their showroom in order to keep up with current trends in the look of today's kitchens. There are multiple kitchen vignettes each containing a variety of appliances, countertops, cabinets and accessories that match the look and feel of a modern kitchen. The newly designed store offers state-of-the-art technology in kitchen, laundry and media solutions in a comfortable and inviting homelike setting.

Hansbarger Home Solutions always puts the customers first and searches for ways to make shopping affordable. They are now the "Home of 6 Ways to Pay". Consumers are able to purchase products with cash, check, credit card, Hansbarger Home Solutions card, and due to customer requests for non-traditional financing, they also offer two "no credit check" programs. Customers can Lease to Own their products or Rent to Own selected items in the showroom.

The Fourth Generation of Ownership

Marlise McCallister represents the fourth generation of ownership and she continues to lead Hansbarger Home Solutions into the future. "I enjoy working with people - our customers, the community, our staff and manufacturers," said Marlise. "Over the years I have become so grateful for the opportunity to carry on the traditions of the family business that were started first by the Hansbarger family almost 100 years ago and then by my father, Karlh McCallister, who passed away in 2009. I learned so much growing up in this business, especially from him, and I take so much pride in continuing to serve our community."

Joining Marlise in the family business is her son Kendall Hemer. A 2018 graduate of Nova Southeastern University, Kendall oversees Hansbarger Home Solutions on a day to day basis.
